Pottery Workshops

Sarah Core Arts Pottery Studio at Home Farm.

With over ten years’ experience in teaching pottery and exhibiting as ceramic artist, Sarah is an award-winning ceramic artist, who loves nothing more than to welcome people to her studio in the Home Farm Glamping grounds to explore creativity and learn new skills with friendly and informal teaching.

Make your glamping experience extra special by relaxing into a pottery workshop of your choice. Connect with the landscape and settle into the rhythm of nature, by making a beautiful personal item of pottery to treasure.

Pottery throwing experience (fired clay only) - £75pp:

This workshop can accommodate up to four people, and you will learn to throw a pot on the pottery wheel and add texture and paint with ceramic paints for firing for collection later. You will have a wheel each, three are electric, and one is a treadle wheel. The treadle wheel is very special; it is a genuine Leach Wheel, guaranteeing a lot of fun and whole-body workout! Your group can rotate between the Leach wheel and electric wheels if you would all like the chance to experience this.

1 person - £75

2 or more people - £60 per person

Hand Building pottery workshop from £45 pp (minimum 4/ max 8 people per workshop):

This is perfect for bigger groups, as you will all learn to make your own plate or dish and decorate it with foraged flowers, pressed leaves and textures from the landscape, then paint your work ready for firing. This is a great way to connect with the surroundings of Home Farm and create a treasured memento of your glamping experience. Have you had a secret (or not so secret!) yearning to try the pottery wheel but your party is more than four? A short (around 15 minutes) pottery wheel introduction can be added on to your hand building workshop.

Your pottery will be left at the studio for firing to a high standard and should be available for collection 3 – 4 weeks later. Sarah Core Arts can arrange courier delivery of your work if you are not able to collect in person (there may be additional costs with this option). Prefer to take your pottery home with you on the day? We can work with top-quality air-drying clay that can be painted with acrylic paints in the comfort of your own home.

Fired clay: £45 per person

Air drying clay: £55 per person

Throwing add-on (fired clay only): £10 per person
