Meet Our New Site Team, Max & Bea

Home Farm Glamping is back in full swing for it's 11th summer season, with glorious sunshine bathing the site in May and June. We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to our new glamping managers, Max and Bea.

MEET THE TEAM

Bea grew up in inner-city London, but always had a love for all things nature. She used to collect pennies on the street for her farm that she’d have when she grew up! She used to grow vegetables in her back garden, and went through all the motions of trying to grow organic veg with zero knowledge of how to, having to learn along the way. She describes her work life as a joyous mixture of event management, camp management, hospitality and the arts.

Max is local to us, growing up in the rural town of Hertford. He's always had a love for animals and nature, but it has grown over the years - with him finding new ways of remedying and preventing illnesses from what grows out of the ground. Re-learning about nature, and in all of the ways it’s beneficial to us, and wanting to give something back to it too. Max also got into Muay Thai as an adult, and found a real love for it - advancing to partaking in semi-professional fights. He now coaches and plans to bring some to Home Farm this summer so keep an eye out for classes! Max’s work experience has also varied, from marketing managing, bar managing and spent some time as a cameleer, caring for and racing camels!

When asking them why they accepted our job offer, they responded "Home Farm attracted us because we never thought we’d find a job that combined all our loves into one place that’s making a positive impact on the world, knowing we will only see improvements as time goes by. We also love the fact that the Estate we are working for shares the same values as us, and genuinely care about the planet and the people who they hire. It really is quite a special place and we look forward to sharing it with all the lovely people who come to stay with us.“

NEWS FROM THE FARM

With the spring cold nights behind us, we’re seeing long days and lots of sunshine at Home Farm. We’ve enjoyed being joined by lovely families, couples, hen parties and friends all looking to reconnect with each other and nature. The site is verdant green, and well and truly in full bloom.

Have you noticed anything new? Returners may have noticed our shower block upgrade, as it’s received lots of compliments! Along with a new activity sheets for children interested in a mini beast hunt 😃, and dog owners can expect a little something in the hamper for our four-legged friends too. We’re all about taking the hard work out of camping for parents, so we’ve re-stocked our toy chest and put in some football goals to entertain the kids. Speaking of kids, have you head about our one day family festival, Magic Meadows, taking place on Sat 26th July?

You haven’t been the only ones to love the warm weather and drizzly nights: The veg patch is really taking shape. With guests who stayed with us for the first two weeks of June, enjoying fresh off the stalk broad beans, and arguably the most garlicy-garlics available. With many more plants nearing fruiting season, we look forward to you all being able to get a taste of Home Farm.

Remember that Home Farm also hosts private events. So if you enjoyed staying with us and think it would be the perfect place for a work get away, a wedding, or a simple knees up in nature with the friends – you’d be right! Drop Alice an email to find out more - alice@homefarmglamping.com

We look forward to hosting you at Home Farm this summer!
