Who we are..
The Gibbs family have farmed in Elstree for over 300 years, and lived in this beautiful bit of countryside right on London's doorstep since 1647. After working in London for the past few years Jess has returned home to help run the farm with her father.
For those of you for whom camping sounds worrying no matter how cunningly the word is disguised, don't worry! There are fully heated indoor showers and flushing loos just a short stroll away, sockets for hair dryers, warm blankets for snuggling round the campfire, hot water for tea and coffee and ice for the cocktails.. This is not camping as you know it. The tents are all situated in one gorgeous meadow, surrounded by long grass and trees with lovely views.
Hop off the tube at Stanmore (Jubilee Line) and in 5 minutes you'll discover rolling green fields and avenues of beautiful, ancient trees. Or if the Northern line is easier, Edgware and Mill Hill East are also just short taxi rides away. This is the place to come if you want to escape London but can't face the thought of a three hour Friday night drive or crowded, expensive train. No need for a car, you can grab your overnight bag and a few bottles of wine, hop on the tube or overland straight from work and be with us in 40 minutes. You can even order a delicious supper for the Friday night and the team will deliver it to your campfire to be heated up once you have settled in (see Food section).
