We firmly believe that food is the most important part of any trip so don't worry, we've got lots of options...
On site Cafe tent
Our wonderful on site caterers run a little cafe tent on site where you can pre-book an evening meal, a cooked breakfast, or a delicious afternoon tea. When you make your tent booking please select the option you want and remember to choose the correct number of mouths to feed. The campfire supper is a pot luck, usually a chilli or stew of some kind, breakfast is a full English, and the afternoon tea features a selection of sandwiches, scones and jam, and some of jean-luc’s amazing cakes!! If you have any dietary requirements please include a note with your booking.
Our Recommended Caterers work right on site so if there’s 2 of you or 50, Drop Colleen an email and see what delicious options can be delivered right to the site!
From bespoke picnic Hampers, Hog roasts to a four course sit down meal to wow your guests - Sainlo Events have it covered:
We can work with any caterer you like just let us know you plans and we’ll do our best to accommodate
There are bbqs and charcoal available for each tent and you will have enough cutlery, crockery, glasses for the people in your tent. We provide washing up kit and there are some carefully tended herbs growing nearby to make you feel as Jamie Oliver as you like.
You can bring food with you, or to make things even easier if you want to do an online shop so you don’t have to carry heavy bags of food and booze on the train send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and if possible we will arrange for someone to be there to meet it and put it away ready for you. There are communal fridges and we can provide cool boxes and ice packs for your tents if required.
There are several pubs within walking distance: The Fishery and The Waggon and Horses are the closest, both about 10 minutes away and both have good food. The Waggon and Horses has a big beer garden and an open fire inside if the weather is less than perfect. If you want a longer walk then The Three Horseshoes in Letchmore Heath is a lovely pub in a picture perfect village about an hour's walk away through our woods and across the fields. They have a new gorgeous covered garden area and often have live music on a Saturday night. There is also The Battle Axes which also has a nice garden. Its part of the Chef and Brewer group so has very good food.
Turner & George
We are very excited to have teamed up with Turner & George, a fantastic independent butcher based in Clerkenwell. Richard H Turner is Executive Chef of Hawksmoor and an acclaimed restaurateur with an unwavering passion for food. James George is a man who knows and loves his trade – he’s a keen advocate of traditional cutting methods and seam butchery. They choose the finest naturally reared meat from British native and rare breeds, working with farms and farmers whom they know from experience rear meat responsibly and ethically. Their beef is 100% grass-fed and dry aged to a minimum of 28 days, and all meat is completely hormone, antibiotic and cruelty free. This, they know, results in a well bred and cared for animal that tastes truly amazing.
